How would you explain your job function to a complete stranger?
I help manage the contractual relationship between Georgia Tech and its Small Business partners who collaborate under a federal program designed specifically to promote small business research and development.
What did you do before this job?
Before joining the OSP team, I worked in Georgia Tech's Office of Industry Engagement on the exchange agreements team directed by Anita McKinney. Prior to that I was a criminal defense/family law attorney in Charleston, South Carolina. Prior to law school, I spent 12 years as a local television news reporter in FL, VA, NC and SC.

JD From Charleston School of Law BS in Telecommunications from University of Florida
What makes working at Georgia Tech great?
In my experience, colleagues and managers have a genuine interest in your success.
What advice would you share with fellow research administrators?
Do not let things you don’t understand freak you out. Over time it will eventually all make sense.
Do you have any recommendations on things to do on or near Georgia Tech’s campus?
Take your laptop on a nice day and go work outside. The campus is beautiful.
What one accomplishment are you most proud of?
Passing the bar exam – it was the hardest test I’ve ever taken (insert crying emoji)
What's your favorite sports team and how far will you go to show your support?
Florida Gators – as far as legally possible.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
Cape Town South Africa. Because I went there on a mission trip last year and it was so beautiful I want to go back to experience it as a tourist.
